Artist Profile
Paulette Lee
Paulette Lee works from her studio on Route 66 in South Pasadena,
California. Her loose, expressive painting style is influenced by the
Russian Masters of the 19th and 20th Century. Much of her inspiration is
drawn from her painting excursions at home and abroad.
In the April 2003 issue of Southwest Art Magazine, her artistic impressions of the historic U.S. Route 66 were featured in a major article. She was selected as an artist to collect in the October 2004 Collector's Issue of Southwest Art. Lee's painting journey to China and Mongolia in 2001 was the subject of an article published in the California Art Club Newsletter.
Museum exhibits include the Pasadena Museum of History and the Pasadena Museum of California Art. She has been invited for the fifth consecutive year as an artist-in-residence at the internationally renowned Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont.
Paulette is an artist member of Oil Painters of America and received an Award of Excellence in the 2008 National Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils in Missoula, Montana. As an artist member of the California Art Club she was invited to participate in the 2009 California's Landscapes and Legacy museum exhibition at the Bennington Center for the Arts in Vermont.
