Florence Exihibit

Florence  lies on the River Arno and is known for its history and its importance in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance, especially for its art and architecture. A centre of medieval European trade and finance and one of the richest and wealthiest cities of the time,[3] Florence is considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance; in fact, it has been called the Athens of the Middle Ages.[4]  The artists represented in "The Lure of Florence" were classically trained in Florence at the Florence Academy of Art.  They each have a unique way of representing the human emotion and the beauty of their subject matter be it a simple flower or life size painting.  The artists work from live models, flowers bought at the corner market or paint their landscapes in the "Plein air" style. Their paintings show us the return to discipline in art, to timeless classical canons of beauty and to the study of nature as the foundation for great painting. The artists interpret humanist values in their work, and ultimately, create a work of universal relevance.

More and more people today are appreciating the beauty of traditionally rendered images and the representational art movement is flourishing.
