Artist Statement
I was born and raised on a ranch outside Santa Fe. Our family
lived far from town, so I had lots of time to myself to explore
the arroyos and mesas that formed my backyard. I began painting
as a child and, even then, found inspiration and material in those
rough, dry landscapes. The colors of the desert - more foundation
of my palette. The textures of the desert - smooth and rough, but
always substantial, always inviting a touch - are the textures I
work to achieve in my exploration of various media.
